Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers so you know what to expect from your consultation and cardiac studies.

What does the initial assessment include and what is the cost?
The first consultation costs $1,200 MXN and includes a cardiology evaluation and a resting electrocardiogram (ECG) when clinically indicated. Additional studies, if needed for diagnosis, are quoted separately.
What is quoted apart from the consultation and at what point is it decided?
Studies such as echocardiogram, Holter, MAPA or stress test have a separate cost. If during your medical evaluation it is determined that you need one, the reason will be explained to you and you will be quoted before it is performed.
Reimbursement with insurance companies: what documentation is required?
We work under a reimbursement model. At the end of your consultation or study, we provide a CFDI invoice and medical report so you can submit your claim to your insurer. Authorization and reimbursement amounts depend on your policy.
Can I schedule a study without a medical referral?
Yes. You can schedule diagnostic studies directly. Dr. Karla will perform the study, interpret the results and provide you with the report. If any relevant findings are identified, she will recommend the next step.
How long does it take to get the results of the studies?
Echocardiogram and Stress Test: The report is delivered on same day. Holter and MAPA: The complete report is delivered in a time frame of 24 to 48 hours after returning the equipment.
Am I a candidate for cardiac rehabilitation?
The medical indication is confirmed during your assessment. Generally, it is recommended for people seeking a safe recovery after a heart attack, stent placement, cardiac surgery or for those living with heart failure.
Do you serve in English?
Yes. Dr. Karla Castolo provides cardiology care in English and Spanish, facilitating communication for international patients and residents.
