Cardiac Stress Testing (Ergometry) in Puerto Vallarta
What problem does it help you solve?
The stress test is useful when you need to know what happens to your heart when you exercise, not only at rest.
It is often requested if:
Presentas chest pain or tightness with activity.
You have shortness of breath disproportionate to the effort.
Notes palpitations that appear when walking, climbing stairs or training.
You are looking for an assessment before starting or resuming exercise safely.
It is required to evaluate your functional capacity and exercise tolerance.
It is necessary to observe your blood pressure response during exertion.
What problem does it help you solve?
Ergometry is a test in endless band with progressive increases in intensity. During exercise the ECG is recorded and blood pressure is measured in stages.
Its value is simple: observe your cardiovascular response under stress conditions, to guide clinical decisions and, when applicable, physical activity recommendations.
What do you get at the end?
Clinical report with ECG findings during exercise and recovery.
Blood pressure response and heart rate in the test.
Functional capacity and reason for detention (e.g., fatigue or symptoms).
Clear explanation of what was found and the recommended next step (follow-up, adjustments or complementary studies if required).
The difference Dr. Castolo
The value of the test is not in “running on the sidelines”, but in the clinical interpretation of what happens in the ECG, blood pressure and your symptoms throughout the effort and recovery.
The goal is to make data-driven decisions: whether your response is expected, whether there are findings that require follow-up, and what level of activity is reasonable in your case.
What this study evaluates
Size and mobility of cardiac cavities.
Valve operation (leaks/narrowing).
Pumping force (ejection fraction).
Detection of murmurs or valvulopathies.
Post-infarction follow-up.
Objective pre-surgical evaluation.
How is it done?
Preparation and initial registration
ECG electrodes are placed and baseline blood pressure is taken. Indications are reviewed and it is confirmed that it is safe to start.
Band exercise in stages
You walk on the treadmill in progressive increments. During the test, ECG and blood pressure are monitored in stages, in addition to symptoms.
Recovery and surveillance
At the end of the exercise, you continue under brief observation while ECG, blood pressure and recovery are monitored.
Report and explanation
The clinical report is integrated and the significance of the findings is explained, with the recommended next step.
